Evry Centre Essonne is the administrative capital and prefecture of the Département of Essonne. Over the past 40 years it has grown into a major urban nexus on the swath of territory forming an Innovation Area that connects Evry to Orly, Massy and the Saclay Plateau.
In our metropolitan district in the southern half of the Île-de-France Region, we have ambitious plans for the future. With facilities like the Genopole®, we intend to strengthen our economic, academic and scientific influence, and explore synergies with the nearby centres of North Essonne and Massy- Saclay.
Since the creation of the Evry new town conglomeration, the urban and economic development of this evolving area has made it necessary to maximise its potential. We want to improve mobility and make it easier to get to and from the key employment hubs in the vicinity, in particular by building new transport links joining us to the TGV train station at Massy and to the Orly airport hinterland. To improve access to jobs and widen our reach, we also need to complete our road network and focus on opening up our less integrated suburbs.
We see this desire to maximise our town’s assets as part of a process that combines sustainable development with an open outlook that encourages strong civic roots and helps build an identity. Our goal is to combine improved quality of life for our districts with a strong architectural vision for the future of our towns and suburbs and their new urban forms

As the administrative capital of Essonne, located at the heart of a population centre of over 400,000 inhabitants, Evry Centre Essonne offers a range of public and government services: the Conseil Général (departmental council), Prefecture and decentralised authorities, a court house complex, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Small Businesses and Trades Association, the Banque de France, etc.
The conglomeration also has major social and welfare facilities: the Sud Francilien hospital, the University, a regional shopping centre, cultural and sports facilities, the Genocentre and, our international conference complex.
